The Nick Faldo-designed golf course, aptly named ‘The Fortress’, will be an 18-hole championship length course. It will challenge and inspire players of all handicaps, offering two very different experiences through both nine holes. The naturally undulating terrain will be utilised, with several holes playing towards, alongside and away from Grand Lake. The marshland here will be a special feature and the varying wind directions will help to enhance the overall strategic quality of the course.
The fascinating, 18-hole par 3 golf course will contribute to the unique golfing experience at Louisbourg Resort, the varying lengths of the holes encouraging players to utilise every club in their bag. This will in itself offer a true test – as well as being ideal preparation prior to tackling the championship-length ‘Fortress Course’.
Cape Breton Island's golf courses offer a complete range of playing experiences surrounded by stunning beauty (Cape Breton was voted one of six Favourite International Golf Destinations in the 2005 edition of The Best Northeast Golf hit news by New Englanders).
