On Cape Breton Island there are plenty of unique festivals and events to enjoy throughout the year.
Celtic Colours International Music Festival is an annual island-wide festival including events from square dances in intimate community halls to grand concerts at some of the island's larger venues.
Each year in October, over 300 artists from all over the Celtic world, including Scotland, Ireland, the United States, Brittany and Canada perform at over 30 venues around the island. Besides the lively nightly events, there is a full schedule of workshops that allows visitors to participate in the Celtic culture.
Louisbourg Crab Festival celebrates the delicious landings of local crab fishermen at the annual crab festival. Over 5000 people join this event each Summer for family games, entertainment and crab dinners.
